The L405 Range Rover was launched in 2012 to become the fourth iteration of this segment defining model. With an all-aluminium monocoque, a first for an SUV, the L405 Range Rover was a mind boggling 420 kgs lighter than its predecessor. ‘GU17WWO’ is an example of the Vogue model with the 3-litre TDV6 diesel engine and specified with around £7,500 of extras. ‘GU17WWO’ has been enjoyed by four previous owners to date. The current vendor acquired the Range Rover in February 2023 having added around 15,000 miles in that time to bring the current total to around 89,000. ‘GU17WWO’ comes with a full service history from a mixture of dealers and independent specialists. An advisory free MOT is in place until September 2025. A great example of the undeniable best 4x4 by far.
The L405 retains all the prestige and recognisable DNA of its earlier cousins within a thoroughly advanced and optimally evolved package. ‘GU17WWO’ adds to that with some valuable and desirable extras. Externally these include the 22-inch Turbine alloy wheels, privacy glass, removable towbar, pan roof and Black Design Pack. The spacious and highly luxury Vogue interior is finished with sublime Dove Grey leather and all the usual Range Rover refinements and addenda. In addition to these the options of heated wooden steering wheel, cockpit dash, heated front & rear seats, meridian sound system and 4 zone climate control are also included. The paintwork, bodywork and interior are all vendor rated as “good.”
The L405 Range Rover was offered with an impressive range of power units. ‘GU17WWO’ is fitted with the 3-litre turbo diesel, six cylinder TDV6 engine. This engine is admired for offering a great balance between impressive economy and surprisingly sprightly performance thanks to its impressively reduced weight. The TDV6 was originally rated at 254 bhp and a stonking 443 Ib-ft of torque. A smooth shifting eight-speed automatic transmission routes this output to a full time four wheel drive system with a 50/50 torque split. All the usual Range Rover off road aids are, of course, present including a two speed transfer case and an updated version of the Terrain Response system. All mechanical aspects of ‘GU17WWO’ are described as “excellent.” Removable Towbar, Meridian Sound System, Pan Roof, Fridge.
In summary:
· A highly specified example of the L405 Range Rover with over £7,500 of extras
· A great, stealthy look courtesy of the grey livery and Black Design Pack
· Complete with a full service history and an advisory free MOT
