This striking Mk2 Golf GTi has been purpose-built for competition and is presented as a ready-to-race track car. The vendor informs us that the shell was fully stripped, seam-welded, and rebuilt in July 2020 using an original 1988 GTi donor. The build incorporates an array of uprated and competition parts, many supplied by ABS Motorsport, including lightweight panels, OMP homologated equipment, and motorsport-specification suspension and braking components.
The 2.0-litre ABF engine is paired with a rebuilt gearbox and Quaife differential, running on standalone management with Omex ECU. Safety is ensured via a full roll cage, Cobra competition seat, harness, and on-board fire extinguisher system. Stopping power is delivered by Wilwood four-pot front calipers with 280mm discs, while the car also benefits from Gaz Gold adjustable coilovers and uprated bushes throughout. Inside, the stripped cabin features auxiliary gauges, cut-off switches, and a Sparco steering wheel.
Supplied with a large file of invoices, build photos, and race documentation, this Golf has successfully competed in the Classic VW Cup and presents as a turn-key entry into grassroots motorsport.
