The Bolesworth Castle March 2024 Classic & Performance Car Auction

Lot 11

2004 Mercedes - Benz CLK 55 AMG

Registration – RV04 PZE

Chassis No. – WDB2093762F098356

M.O.T. – September 2024

Odometer – 94,000

Sleek and subtle, this example of Mercedes-Benz’s CLK coupe comes in 55 AMG specification, boasting the Affalterbach division’s 5.5-litre V8, which produced more than 360bhp when new. It’s connected to a fast-shifting five-speed automatic transmission for potent performance when required – or comfortable cruising; it’s certainly a multi-faceted machine. Presented in classic black, with AMG alloys and discreet boot-lid spoiler, ‘RV04 PZE’ features a black interior with black and mulberry leather. The vendor describes the two-door, four-seat coupe as ‘excellent’ throughout, from engine and transmission to paint and interior. Offered with 94,000 miles on the odometer, this CLK55 AMG has had just two previous keepers in the last 20 years.

Mercedes-Benz’s CLK-Class is a key, but relatively short-lived, model in the German giant’s history. Having been introduced in 1996, it proved a temporary separated ‘E-Class’ coupe and convertible option, before the two-door models were brought back within the E-Class’s portfolio. The mid-sized premium coupe and cabriolet saw three-generations within its time in production, starting with the C/W208 version, followed by the C/A209 models, and completing the set with the C/A207 series. The badge was also successfully raced in Germany’s DTM touring car championship, and provided the inspiration behind the CLK GTR GT1 endurance racer.

In Summary:

· Classically styled yet powerful example of Mercedes’ CLK-Class coupe

· Only three owners from new

· Well equipped with factory-fitted AMG accessories
