P38A Range Rovers are becoming increasingly collectable as the second-generation model starts to be recognised as a genuine classic. This model, offered at no reserve, is particularly desirable as it is presented in very good overall condition. It was originally sold in Japan, and was imported into (and registered) in the UK in 2019. Thanks to its life in Japan, it is a sought-after rust-free example – very few Range Rover P38A remain in such good condition. What’s more, this 4.0-litre V8 is described as a fully loaded example, and being a non-sunroof version adds extra desirability (and collectability). The vendor describes the bodywork and paintwork as being in ‘excellent’ condition, along with the engine and transmission.

‘W274NDA’ benefits from a recent head gasket upgrade, with invoice, that forms part of the full and extensive service history. The paperwork also includes the original handbooks. The owner has ensured it is equipped with correct factory-fit tyres, with the sensibly-sized original wheels delivering a suitably smooth Range Rover ride. There is an upgraded Pioneer stereo, while the speedometer has mph markings alongside the main km/h calibration. Because of this, the odometer reads around 102,000km, which translates to just over 63,000 miles – again, very low for a P38A Range Rover.

The second-generation Range Rover was launched in 1994, 24 years after the release of the original. This really was an all-new car, developed in Solihull with many advanced features including an improved electronic air suspension system, called EAS. Engines included the classic Rover V8 along with a BMW-sourced six-cylinder turbodiesel. This 4.0-litre example produces a useful 190bhp, along with that iconic Rover V8 soundtrack.

In summary:

· Cherished Japanese import Range Rover P38A

· Rare non-sunroof model

· Offered at no reserve
