The Bolesworth Castle March 2024 Classic & Performance Car Auction

Lot 17

2003 Jaguar XJ8 4.2 V8 SE
Range-topping 'Special Equipment' model, with a current MOT and warranted mileage

Registration - BG03 JTY

Chassis No. - SAJAC72P83SG05833

M.O.T. - February 25

Odometer - 98,061

‘BG03 JTY’ has been the cherished possession of a Jaguar Enthusiast Club member for the past six years, and only used in the spring and summer months during his tenure. Smartly presented in blue metallic paintwork and riding on multi-spoke 18” alloy wheels, it makes an ideal entrée into the pleasures of Jaguar ownership. The interior is quintessential XJ, with an expanse of cream leather complemented by gleaming burr walnut veneer. The SE (Special Equipment) trim level adds an alarm, Alpine sound system, heated front and rear seats, height-adjustable driver’s seat, climate control and cruise control to the already expansive standard specification, which includes an electric sunroof. The vendor presently describes the Jaguar’s 4.2-litre, 300bhp V8 engine and six-speed automatic transmission as ‘excellent’, and the electrics, aluminium bodywork, paintwork and interior trim as ‘good’. The indicated mileage of 97,842 is supported by the accompanying MOT certificates, with just 4,654 of the total having been covered in the last four years, complete with handbook and a current advisory-free MOT valid to March 30, 2024,

The X350 – the third generation of Jaguar’s flagship XJ saloon – went on sale in 2003. Although it preserved the much-loved styling, it brought the XJ into the 21st century with such advanced features as an all-aluminium unitary construction bodyshell, air suspension system with double wishbones front and rear, and six-speed automatic transmission. The XJ8 was powered by Jaguar’s renowned V8 engine, now in 3.5-litre and 4.2-litre form, the top-of-the-range XJR version of which featured a supercharger. The X350 also saw the reintroduction after some years of an XJ6, utilising the 3-litre V6 engine from the company’s S-Type and X-Type models.

In summary:

  • A well-specified and presented example of Jaguar’s desirable X350 XJ
  • Most recently cared for by a Jaguar Enthusiast Club member
  • Offered a with a current MOT and warranted mileage
