‘MHO461F’ is a 1968 Ford Anglia which has undergone a full restoration and significant rest-modding to a very high standard. ‘MHO461F’ has been in its current ownership for two years and five months with 14 previous keepers recorded. Not only has ‘MHO461F’ enjoyed numerous aesthetic upgrades, not least the Porsche Mint Green and White livery, but its mechanical specification is nothing short of mind boggling. The result is a deeply desirable resto-modded Anglia that is reported to run perfectly without faults. ‘MHO461F’ is classified as an Historic Vehicle based on age and so zero rated for road tax and MOT exempt.
‘MHO461F’ has undergone a truly thorough mechanical transformation. The 2.1-litre, four cylinder engine features a CTM full race specification head, GTS4 Kent cam, Weber 48S carburettors, a four branch manifold and a full 2.25” stainless steel exhaust system. A Bestek fully mapped ignition is also present. A 205 block with 92.5mm bore, Wossner forged pistons with valve cut outs, an ultra-light turbo sport flywheel, Helix clutch, and HP oil pump. The full loom has been replaced and a cutoff fuse box fitted. A Type 9, five speed close ratio straight cut gearbox with quick shift gear lever is fitted. This is coupled to a JW Engineering prop shaft, Blackline 18-tooth differential, Squires 18-tooth shafts, a shortened axle and Milton braced adjustable arms. Capri 2.8 legs are employed as is a 2.25” coil over conversion with full adjustment top mounts and a retro Ford rack and pinion steering system. Vented discs are present all round, working with M16 callipers. Quite the package!
The exterior presentation of ‘MHO461F’ is dominated by that striking Mint Green and White livery and the deep, banded steel wheels with Ford Anglia chromed hubcaps. The vendor confirms that the interior requires a little tidying in the shape of door cards and a headlining. The vendor rates the paintwork and bodywork as “good” and the interior as “average.”
In summary:
· An imposing and thoroughly uprated resto-modded Ford Anglia.
· A mind boggling mechanical specification with nothing left to improve.
· MOT exempt and zero rated for road tax based on Historic Vehicle status.
