Finished in white with a contrasting grey leather interior, this 1989 Ford Orion 1.6i Ghia represents the upmarket offering of Ford’s Escort range and has been consigned to auction at no reserve. The vendor advises that the car has been in long-term ownership and is accompanied by a file of historic paperwork, including old MOTs and registration documentation.

Equipped with the desirable 1.6i injection engine and five-speed manual gearbox, the Orion Ghia offered a more refined take on Ford’s popular Escort underpinnings, featuring additional trim details, upgraded upholstery and a higher specification interior. This particular example is fitted with leather seats, wood-effect dashboard trim, and period stereo equipment. The odometer reading is to be confirmed, and the car is currently without an MOT.

The Ford Orion was introduced in 1983 as a saloon derivative of the Escort, aimed squarely at buyers seeking a little more prestige and comfort without moving into a larger category. Particularly in Ghia form, the model was a popular choice in period, offering affordable family motoring with a touch of luxury.
