The Big End of Year Auction at Bolesworth Castle, Cheshire

Lot 27

1976 Rover 2200 TC
Smart seventies British saloon with extensive history file and recent expenditure

Registration – ODN 29P

Chassis No. – 49111817A

M.O.T. – August 2026

Odometer – 74,340

Finished in a period Old English-style white with contrasting black vinyl roof, this very smart Seventies saloon cuts an elegant figure. The brightwork, hubcaps and distinctive boot-mounted spare give it real presence, and the car sits correctly on its original steel wheels.

The interior is trimmed in black leather which presents well for the age, with only light wear to the seats and door cards. The wood cappings and dashboard retain their period character, while a discreetly fitted Kenwood stereo head unit brings the in-car entertainment up to date. The slim-rim steering wheel, array of toggle switches and floor-mounted manual gear lever all help to preserve the original cabin ambience.

The odometer currently shows 74,340 miles and the car is offered with an MOT running until August 2026. Recent expenditure is evidenced by a substantial collection of invoices from recognised classic-car specialists, together with an owner’s manual, operation manuals, a workshop manual on disc and various other paperwork.

Altogether, this is an appealing, usable Seventies saloon, sensibly upgraded for modern motoring yet retaining plenty of period charm, and offered with the reassurance of a long test and a sizeable history file.

  • Smart Seventies British executive saloon with vinyl roof and boot-mounted spare wheel

  • Long history file with manuals, workshop literature and many recent parts invoices

  • MOT to August 2026 and showing 74,340 miles
