This remarkable 1985 Cadillac Seville ‘bustle back’ Roadster is finished in a vibrant yellow that makes it doubly sure you will get noticed behind the wheel. The bodywork is set off by a brown cabriolet-look vinyl roof and multispoke wheels with white-wall tyres. Originally used in the US, records show it was imported into the UK in January 2022; it’s had just one owner here in the UK. Powered by a 4.1-litre Cadillac V8, ‘B654EYB’ is naturally paired with an automatic transmission, for maximum waftability.

‘B6754WYB’ may be remarkable on the outside, but it is inside where it really shines. The interior is simply superb, with colour-matched leather featuring extra-comfortable seat bolsters. There are deep-pile carpets, lashings of wood veneer and even Seville-branded reading lamps in the rear. The driver has plenty of elegant switchgear at their fingertips, while a fancy electronic ‘Information Center’ helps them keep a watching eye on the Cadillac’s vitals. In the centre is a period fuel computer, climate control array and a ‘Symphony Sound’ stereo with electronic display. Overall, this is a wonderful example of 1980s American luxury that is a guaranteed head-turner at classic car events.

The Cadillac Seville is, by US standards, a mid-size luxury car, although in the UK it’s decidedly executive-sized. The first generation was introduced in 1975, offered in a variety of bodystyles with some coachbuilders even creating bespoke models. This car is a second generation model, introduced in 1980 as a smaller and more manoeuvrable model. It switched to front-wheel drive, and offered a range of engines including a controversial diesel. Most customers rightly stuck with the traditional V8. After almost 200,000 were produced, Cadillac switched to the third-generation Seville in 1986.
