Like all of the Malcolm Sayer designed Jaguars, the E-Type enjoyed an illustrious racing career, if latterly eclipsed by its enormous popularity as a road car. ‘UCA831D’ evokes the look and feel of those lightweight racing E Types in an unparalleled, optimised for the road package. Based on a 1966 Series I E Type fixed head coupe, ‘UCA831D’ underwent the most diligent and far reaching restoration and upgrading during 2020 at the hands of a long established British Jaguar specialist. This ground up restoration, today, results in a highly evolved example of the E Type with stunning looks, awesome performance and astounding dynamics. ‘UCA831D’ is reported to deliver close to 400 bhp and 400 Ib-ft of torque and features a long list of accompanying upgrades to give this sublime Jaguar real-word performance and usability. With just two keepers since its 2020 rebirth and just a few thousand miles covered since then, this is a true one of kind opportunity to own a 1966 E Type with 2025 capabilities.

‘UCA831D’ presents in gleaming Portofino Blue which exudes a deep lustre from the Jaguar’s subtly flared wings and arches. The fitment of a staggered set – 7J at the front and 8J at the rear – 15 inch Dunlop style racing wheels necessitates some extra clearance. These striking performance wheels are affixed with central, twin eared spinners. Other than the aforementioned upgrades and the flush fitted chrome bumpers the iconic Sayer design is left to speak for itself. ‘UCA831D’s’ cabin has received the same sort of subtle but high-quality reworking, too. A bespoke seat design features with red leather bolsters vying for attention with Alcantara finished central sections in vertical box pleats. The door panels have received an upgrade, too, with leather top rolls and pleated Alcantara for the remainder. The familiar dashboard retains delightful originality complete with the Series I toggle switches and original three spoke Jaguar steering wheel. Front and rear heated screens are also fitted for optimum convenience as are cleverly concealed inertia reel seatbelts.

Lifting that curvaceous clamshell bonnet reveals where the majority of the most profound upgrades have been made, however. The legendary 4.2-litre XK engine has been bored out to 4.7-litres and fitted with three side draught Weber 48 DCOE carburettors, an upgraded Jenvey throttle body and a performance air filter. A ceramic coated custom manifold is exhaust wrapped for thermal efficiency and leads to a fully custom built, free flow exhaust system with polished tail pipes. Power is routed to the rear wheels via a bespoke 5 speed sports gearbox and distributed via a 3.31 Powerlok limited slip differential. Adjustable Gaz coil-over suspension is fitted all round together with uprated anti-roll bars and bushes. Upgraded vented discs are present all round with six piston and four piston callipers fitted to the front and rear respectively. An electric vacuum pump assists the actuation of the brake servo. Those stunning E Type looks combined with this most sophisticated of mechanical specifications truly make ‘UCA831D’ the most desirable and accomplished of sporting Jaguars.
