The vendor informs us this limited-edition Mini Cooper, produced only between 1990 and 1991, has been the subject of restoration and refurbishment during its most recent ownership. Having covered just 18,000 miles in the last 19 years, it presents in excellent order today. Works have included an engine refurbishment, replacement of metal and panels as required, and a professional respray in its original black livery, complete with white stripes, decals and John Cooper’s signature.
The accompanying history file shows this car has had ten previous keepers, with the last custodian acquiring it in 2018 and overseeing its return to fine condition. Records indicate a period off the road between 2016 and 2020, after which it was carefully recommissioned. With its distinctive presentation and restored finish, it offers an appealing opportunity for any enthusiast seeking one of these rare factory Cooper editions.
Introduced in 1990 to celebrate the rebirth of the Cooper name under John Cooper Garages, these limited editions helped reignite the Mini’s sporting appeal. Featuring unique graphics, stripes and detailing, they were a bridge between the classic Minis of old and the factory-backed Coopers that followed in the 1990s, making them highly sought after by collectors today.
