Registration - OE60 DXS
Chassis No. - WUAZZZ429BN001315
M.O.T. - November 2024
Odometer - 21,000
This head-turning, mid-engined, all-wheel drive two-seater convertible has been a cherished part of a private collection. The full service history supports the displayed mileage of just 21,512, suggesting that this beautifully-presented example has been used for high days and holidays alone. Elegant Suzuka grey paintwork and black Nappa leather interior form a stylish combination, and the vendor informs us that both are in ‘excellent’ condition. He further comments that the vehicle’s V8 engine, six-speed gate-shift manual transmission and electrics are also in ‘excellent’ order. The Spyder benefits from the addition of a Milltek stainless steel exhaust system and rides on 19”, 10-spoke ‘Y’ design alloy wheels shod with Pirelli P Zero tyres. The innovative Z-folding fabric hood, which opens and closes in just 19 seconds and can be operated when the vehicle is travelling at up to 31mph, also appears to be in excellent condition. The Audi is being offered complete with service book and factory book pack. Please note that the registration shown in the photos will be placed on retention, and the car will be offered with the registration OE60 DXS.
Based on the 2003 Audi Le Mans quattro concept car and built on the Lamborghini Gallardo platform, the Audi R8 coupé was launched at the 2006 Paris Salon. Initially just one version was available, the V8-engined R8 4.2 FSI, with the V10-engined R8 5.2 FSI following in December 2008. By then the model was gaining international accolades, with the V8 winning ‘2008 World Performance Car of the Year’, an honour the V10 would go on to emulate in 2010. The V10 R8 Spyder arrived in 2010, adding a further level of desirability to Audi’s flagship range, with the 4.2-litre V8 version following closely behind. With no less than 430bhp on tap, the latter could power from rest to 60mph in as little as 4.5 seconds. At launch, Top Gear magazine commented that ‘the 4.2-litre V8 barks and has an angry, raucous edge that really gets under your skin and makes bits of you tingle... the V8 Spyder could well be the finest R8 that Audi makes. And therefore the finest version of one of the best sports cars of the last decade’.
