This striking Evolution VI GSR is a purpose-built, track-focused machine that has been subject to a comprehensive performance transformation. Dry-stored and maintained regardless of cost, the vendor informs us it has covered just 1,500 miles since the bulk of the major upgrades were completed. These include a fully forged engine, Defi gauges with controller, and a host of high-performance components such as a Blitz fully adjustable coilover setup, Samco boost and coolant pipework, an HKS vent-to-atmosphere valve, and an Exedy twin-plate clutch kit. A replacement gearbox has also been fitted, while further enhancements include a welded-in Custom Cages multi-point roll cage, Recaro bucket seats with harnesses, roof vent, and carbon fibre roof. Stopping power is supplied by an AP Racing 330mm 6-pot brake kit, while performance is aided by 1000cc RC injectors, a Walbro 255 fuel pump, Spec R intercooler, 3-inch turbo-back mongoose exhaust, and an Evo 9 turbo in Stage 1.5 spec by Ross Sport.
Currently running at a reported 490bhp, this Evo has been regularly serviced by marque specialist CPP every 500 miles since its build. It is accompanied by a comprehensive file of invoices totalling over £25,000, reflecting the significant investment in both performance and upkeep. A spare set of desirable Enkei wheels is also included in the sale and to be collected by the buyer.
Launched in 1999, the Evolution VI was a homologation special for Group A rallying, building on the success of its predecessors with improved aerodynamics, cooling, and mechanical resilience. The GSR variant combined everyday usability with genuine motorsport capability, and today, highly developed examples such as this are prized among collectors and track-day enthusiasts alike.
