Chassis No. – GF8-031653

M.O.T. – August 2025

Odometer – 127,103KM (78,978 Miles)

‘722 YHK’ is a fine example of the revered Subaru Impreza WRX in purest Gen I form. Hailing from 1997 and presenting in GF8D version III “estate” configuration, ‘722 YHK’ was originally supplied to the Japanese domestic market from new. ‘722 YHK’ was imported to the UK in 2007 and is in the stewardship of its third UK keeper to date. A sensible 79,000 miles or so have been covered to date making this a surprisingly lightly used example. ‘722 YHK’ is reported by the vendor to be rust and rot free underneath and has also benefitted from a recent engine rebuild with photographic and documentary proof. Comes with a full service history, plenty of supporting paperwork and an advisory free MOT valid until August 2025. Offered here with NO RESERVE, ‘722 YHK’ represents an exciting ownership opportunity for JDM fans and aficionados.

‘722 YHK’ is an example of the less common wagon / estate version of the Impreza WRX and looks impressive in its bright silver livery. All the key WRX cues are here including the deep chin spoiler, blanked off STi emblazoned vents and numerous bonnet scoops and vents. Matt black roof bars and deeply tinted privacy glass also features. The five spoke alloy wheels are finished in a signature, anodised gold colour. The surprisingly practical saloon interior of ‘722 YHK’ is predominantly standard Impreza WRX fare. The front rally inspired sports seats are finished in a tweedy grey fabric with accent panels of dark grey. A nice, three spoke Nardi Torino steering wheel is present as is a contemporary USB equipped head unit. Bodywork and interior are vendor rated as “good,” and the paintwork as “average.”

‘‘722 YHK’ is thought to feature its original EJ20 2-litre boxer engine. A full engine rebuild at a cost of £3,000 has recently been undertaken. The EJ20 unit distributes its power to all four wheels via the five speed TY752 manual transmission. The retrofitted enhancements are limited to lowering springs and large calibre sports exhaust. The original parts will be included in the sale. The engine and transmission are rated as “excellent” and the electrics as “good.”

In summary:

  • Less common estate version of the Gen 1 Impreza WRX
  • Imported from Japan in 2007 with just four keepers since
  • Subject to a recent £3,000 engine rebuild
