The Bolesworth Castle September 2024 Classic, Performance & Supercar Auction

Lot 39

2004 Mercedes CLK 320 Convertible
***NO RESERVE***

Registration - YA04 KKR

Chassis No. - WDB2094652T033610

M.O.T. - June 2025

Odometer - 108,000

This elegant 2004 Mercedes-Benz CLK 320 Avantgarde Convertible, first registered in June 2004, is being offered with no reserve. It has had just three owners, with the vendor reporting they bought it from the second owner, a retired naval officer, who purchased it from a Mercedes-Benz main dealer (they paid £26,600 for it). They had a boat in the South of France, so the car spent a lot of time over there, and also spent a lot of time driving it to Brighton. Back in the UK, it has always been garaged which helps explain why it is described as being in ‘excellent’ condition throughout, from engine, transmission and electrics, to bodywork, paintwork and interior.

‘YA04KKR’ has reportedly always been maintained to a high standard and the vendor says it drives really well. The odometer reads 108,000 miles and the car has an MOT valid until June 2025. A noteworthy feature is that it has a complete new roof cover fitted, further underlining its immaculate appearance. The fully electric roof hides beneath a body-colour cover when folded. Avantgarde trim brings eye-catching two-tone leather inside, while the cabin features luxuries such as electric seats, dual-zone heating and two plush-looking rear seats complete with their own electric windows. Naturally, the 3.2-litre V6 engine is paired with an effortless automatic gearbox.

The Mercedes-Benz CLK was effectively the two-door coupe and convertible version of the C-Class and E-Class. Positioned in between the SLK roadster and luxury CL, the styling and interior were derived from the E-Class, while the underpinnings were based on the C-Class. This model is the second generation CLK, introduced in 2001, with the convertible being noteworthy as it was assembled by Karmann at a specialist facility in Osnabruck. Core models were Elegance and Avantgarde, with the Avantgarde boasting 18-inch alloy wheels, stiffer springs and a lower ride height. It also had aluminium interior trim, instead of the wood in Elegance.

In summary:

  • Mercedes-Benz CLK V6 in ‘excellent’ condition throughout
  • Desirable Avantgarde spec
  • Offered with no reserve
