This exclusive 1996 Ferrari 456GT, with the desirable six-speed manual gearbox, is finished in ultra-rare Azzurro Monaco blue exterior with tan leather interior. How rare? Of the mere 141 right-hand drive Ferrari 456GT sold in the UK between 1994 and 1998, just two were in Azzurro Monaco – and this is confirmed by the Ferrari Owners Club. ‘N114BRB’ was first registered in the UK in January 1996, and later registered in the Isle of Man (IOM) in February 2004. It was stored off road between 2005 and 2011. It has had just two owners in the IOM, including the vendor, who’s owned it since 2012. Notably, this Ferrari 456GT has covered just 26,100 miles.
‘N114BRB’ has a comprehensive service history by Ferrari specialists both in the UK and IOM, including JCT600 and Graypaul. The most recent service at 26,046 miles, by SCP in the IOM, included a replacement alternator from Maranello Classic Parts. The vendor says the car has the original tan leather wallet containing the bright yellow driver’s handbook and other original Ferrari manuals, along with a complete toolkit in its original leather case. A personalised history file contains plenty of receipts, and original Ferrari 456GT user guides and booklets are included too.
‘N114BRB’ has original paintwork that is in good condition for the age, reports the vendor. There are a few scratches and chips, but no dents or major defects. Similarly, the interior leather is slightly worn, in keeping with the age of the car, but there are no tears or splits. “All the interior electrics are working as they should, the engine starts first time and runs beautifully.” The car was a participant in 2012’s world record for the largest parade of Ferraris on a racetrack at the same time, verified by the Guinness Book of Records.
The Ferrari 456GT marked the return of the beautiful V12 Ferrari GT car made famous in the 1960s and 1970s. Introduced in 1992, it succeeded the unpopular 412 as the firm’s V12 four-seater. The beautiful styling was designed by Pietro Camardella at Pininfarina, and reportedly inspired by the 365 GTB Daytona. The 5.5-litre V12 produced 436hp, giving it a dazzling 192mph top speed. 0-60mph took under five seconds. The 456 name was derived from the fact each cylinder displaced 456cc. Enthusiasts much prefer manual versions to the Ferrari 456 GTA; there was also later an updated Ferrari 456M.
