1960 MG A 1600 Roadster
***NO RESERVE*** The subject of a comprehensive restoration

Few British sports cars encapsulate the spirit of open top motoring quite as convincingly as the MGA. Introduced in 1955 as a radical departure from MG’s traditional upright styling, its sleek, low slung profile proved an immediate export success and today remains one of the most recognisable and usable post war roadsters of its era.

This 1960 example represents the desirable 1600 variant, benefiting from the enlarged engine and front disc brakes that enhanced both performance and drivability over the earlier 1500 models. Finished in attractive cream coachwork complemented by a striking red interior, it presents as a charming and characterful example of this enduring British classic. The car has been the subject of a comprehensive restoration, the results of which are evident in its overall presentation.

We are advised that the vehicle has had just two previous keepers, the first retaining ownership for over 46 years. The current vendor has enjoyed the car for in excess of 15 years, during which time it has been maintained and used as a well kept, usable classic. The recorded mileage is believed to be 87,555 miles.

The brightwork, steel wheels with chrome hubcaps and period detailing contribute to an authentic appearance, whilst the rear luggage rack adds both practicality and touring appeal.

Inside, the cockpit reflects the traditional simplicity for which the model is known, featuring a body coloured dashboard panel housing clear instrumentation, period style switchgear and a classic steering wheel. The red upholstery and trim provide an appealing contrast to the exterior finish, creating an inviting open air driving environment.

Under the bonnet resides the 1,588cc B series engine, coupled to a manual gearbox, delivering the lively yet tractable performance that helped establish the MGA’s reputation as a genuine driver’s car. The engine bay presents tidily, suggesting continued care and maintenance.

Supplied with a black soft top and side screens, this example appears well suited to fair weather touring, shows and club events alike, and is offered without reserve, representing an accessible opportunity to acquire a long term owned and carefully restored British classic.

• Offered without reserve
• The subject of a comprehensive restoration
• Two previous keepers, including 46 year first ownership
