This bright and bold Saab 9-3 Convertible is a collectible rarity. It combines the performance-focused Aero spec with an intriguing TTiD 1.9-litre twin-turbo diesel engine (which has the famous Saab turbo boost gauge on the dash), plus an automatic transmission. It is resplendent in bright red, with smartly-finished 18-inch alloy wheels featuring premium Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres. As a later 2008 facelift example, it also has LED signature lighting at the front and eye-catching ‘ice block’ tail lamps. The vendor describes it as a very well looked after and maintained example, with engine, transmission and electrics in ‘excellent’ condition, plus bodywork, paintwork and interior in ‘good’ condition. It has a full MOT until September 2025, while the odometer reads 68,000 miles.

‘T99HJS’ boasts a full Saab specialist service history, with the vendor pointing out that the cambelt was replaced at 41,000 miles. Featuring the original Saab owners’ manuals and book packs, it also has a bulging A4 folder full of invoices, receipts and MOTs carried out. Desirable features include touchscreen sat nav, heated black leather seats and even Bluetooth phone connectivity – while the famous Saab ‘Night Panel’ switch, which dims the dashboard, also features. Naturally, the black folding soft-top roof is fully electric, controlled via a switch on the dashboard.

The first-generation Saab 9-3 was introduced in 1998, as a facelifted and rebadged version of the previous Saab 900, which was the first to be derived from a GM platform. The second-generation model was introduced in 2003, available in saloon, estate and convertible styles. Using much more advanced GM technology, it featured premium details to help it compete with rivals from Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Convertible versions were particularly popular. The car ran right through to 2012, when Saab sadly fell into bankruptcy, although it was briefly revived by an independent company called NEVS between 2013 and 2014.

In summary:

  • High-spec Saab 9-3 Convertible Aero
  • Extensive service history shows diligent maintenance
  • Offered with no reserve
