1992 Mazda RX7 Efini 3
***NO RESERVE***

Registration – J503 WKG

Chassis No. – FD35109678

M.O.T. – No

Odometer – 85,000 KM (M 35,418)

This beautiful 1992 Mazda RX-7 Efini presents an attractive opportunity to acquire a car that’s been owned by its present keeper for more than 20 years. In that time, it has been garaged and dry-stored for the past eight years, and regularly run to keep it in good health. Built in 1992, it was imported into the UK in 2003, with the vendor being its second UK keeper after acquiring it in January 2004. The V5 is present with this UK-registered car. Being a Japanese car, it is the rare Efini model, part of Mazda’s ‘five channel plan’ that sold cars under five brands: Mazda, Eunos, Efini, Autozam and Autorama.

‘J503WKG’ is resplendent in red paintwork described as being in ‘good’ condition. Inside, it has cream leather upholstery with premium piping, with the interior in ‘excellent’ condition. The vendor adds that the original black upholstery seats are included in the price, as are the original wheels. Crucially, the vendor says the RX-7 itself is, overall, in classic original condition, and hasn’t been modified like so many other examples. They add that everything that’s been done to it has been recorded, including new top gaskets for the engine around a decade ago. It has also benefitted from a new clutch and electric fuel pump. They describe the Wankel rotary engine and five-speed manual transmission as being in ‘excellent’ condition. Being an Efini model, it also has a high spec with all the extras. The odometer reads around 85,000km, or around 52,000 miles.

The third-generation ‘FD’ Mazda RX-7 was introduced in 1991. It continued with the Wankel rotary engine fitted to all RX-7, this time wrapped in a beautifully curvaceous and organic body style. To deliver extra power, it had a high-tech sequential twin-turbo system, with one working at low revs and the second in the upper half of the rev range during full-throttle acceleration. Producing upwards of 250hp, this ensured performance was thrilling. A multi-award-winning car, the FD RX-7 boasted world-class handling and is still acknowledged as one of the world’s finest-handling, best-balanced sports cars.
