Registration – M218 TRM
Chassis No. – CE9A-015047
M.O.T. – NO
Odometer – 136,000
‘M218 TRM’ arrives from a period of nearly 19 years in its current ownership. Being a 1995 model, ‘M218 TRM’ is from the first year of Evo III production. Originally supplied to the Japanese domestic market, ‘M218 TRM’ was imported to the UK in 2005 at around 80,000 miles. The current owner acquired ‘M218 TRM’ in May 2006 and the current recorded mileage stands at around 136,500. It is reported that ‘M218 TRM’ is currently SORN and with no MOT. It was last MOT’d in 2023, however, at 136,208 miles. Whilst no paperwork or V5 Registration Document is present with ‘M218 TRM,’ it is reported that it has been previously restored to include a respray and engine rebuild. A photographic record of some of that work is included.
The Mitsubishi Lancer Evo III made a raft of improvements over its predecessor including a new front end which looked better and improved cooling to the engine and brakes. A new, bigger rear spoiler further helped reduce lift, too. The engine boasted a higher compression ratio and bigger turbo to bring the original power output up to an impressive 270bhp.
‘M218 TRM’ looks purposeful in it's black livery and exhibits all of those aforementioned Evo III enhancements. The big, mesh filled front end, and the dramatic rear spoiler are immediately obvious. A set of gold finished multi-spoke alloys really set off the sports orientated JDM look perfectly. The interior is finished predominantly in black and is complete with the original, deeply bolstered Recaro front seats in grey fabric trim. The condition of the bodywork, paintwork and interior of ‘M218 TRM’ are all rated as “good.”
It is reported that ‘M218 TRM’s’ 4GT63T, four cylinder turbocharged engine has been rebuilt, likely giving it close to its original 270bhp output. Power is fed to all four wheels via a five speed manual transmission and a permanent four wheel drive system for optimal traction. In original form, this configuration was sufficient for a sub-five second 0-60mph time. All of ‘M218 TRM’s’ mechanical systems are rated as “good.”
In summary:
· A restored example of the perennially desirable Lancer Evo III.
· Offering a great looking livery of black with gold, multisport alloys.
· Complete with a photographic record of some earlier restoration works.
