The Bolesworth Castle March 2024 Classic & Performance Car Auction

Lot 5

1998 Vauxhall Vectra 1.6 Envoy
Automatic transmission and only 25,000 miles from new ***NO RESERVE***

Registration – S493 BDK

Chassis No. – W0L0JBF68W7152695

M.O.T. – 10/2024

Odometer – 25,900

Once a mainstay of British motoring, the Vauxhall Vectra - particularly first-generations such as this 1998 example – are now rarities on the road. This early version, which is offered at No Reserve, is powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine, with four-speed automatic transmission, appears to have covered very few miles over its more than 25 year history. With only 25,827 miles on the odometer, MOT records showing 10,547 miles covered since September 2006 and just three owners from new, ‘S493 BDK’ is almost a time-warp model; transporting buyers back to the late nineties in an instant. Described by the vendor as immaculate in all areas, with everything from engine and transmission to blue bodywork and black, part-patterned interior rated ‘excellent’, this Vectra 1.6 Envoy comes with a full service history, a new battery and set of tyres, plus MOT until October with no previous advisories – indicating the care and attention paid to this Vauxhall over the years.

The Vauxhall Vectra was introduced in 1995 as the replacement to the popular Cavalier, a model that shifted the brand’s perception for many such was its capability. Pitched into a ‘repmobile’ battle with the Ford Mondeo, the Vauxhall Vectra was available with a choice of body styles – saloon, hatchback, and estate – over the years, and with everything from entry-level engines through to Super Touring inspired performance models, before it was replaced with the second-generation Vectra in 2005.

· Exceptional example of an early Vauxhall Vectra

· Indicated low mileage – appears to average around 1,000 miles per year of registration

· Full service history and just two previous owners
