The vendor informs us this striking Escort RS Turbo is presented in excellent order, finished in Radiant Red with period RS alloy wheels and auxiliary driving lamps. The interior remains faithful to factory specification, with the original Recaro trim, three-spoke RS steering wheel, and boost gauges.
Mechanically, the car has benefitted from careful maintenance over the years, with an impressive history file that includes service invoices, MOT certificates, workshop manuals, and two substantial folders of documentation. Under the bonnet, the 1.6-litre turbocharged CVH engine presents very well, retaining its correct components, with numerous bills showing conscientious upkeep. The Escort has recently passed an MOT valid until April 2026.
Introduced in 1984, the Escort RS Turbo was Ford’s answer to the burgeoning hot hatch era, combining aggressive styling with genuine performance. Producing 132bhp, the RS Turbo could reach 0–60mph in just under 8 seconds and soon became a rally and street icon of the 1980s. Survivors in tidy condition, such as this example, are increasingly sought after.
