Registration - LW52 PXG
Chassis No. - WVWZZZ1JZ3D020023
M.O.T. - January 2023
Odometer - 128,250
‘LW52 PXG’ is a genuine two-owner example of Volkswagen’s legendary all-wheel drive R32. Its silver three-door bodywork is complemented by black leather interior trim. It remains to original specification aside of the factory exhaust having been replaced by a Milltek performance one. We understand that the windscreen was renewed in 2017, as was the clutch master cylinder in 2020 and the clutch pedal switch as recently as this year. The vendor presently classes the V6 engine, six-speed manual gearbox, bodywork and paintwork as being in ‘good’ order, and the upholstery as ‘average’; though the overall condition would appear to be impressive for a car whose odometer is now displaying 126,500 miles. Indeed, only three minor faults have been volunteered – a tailgate related wiring harness is apparently frayed and needs replacing, the six stack CD player brings up an error message on the head unit, and there is a small chip in the centre of the new windscreen. Well-equipped as standard, ‘LW52 PXG’ is now being offered for sale complete with cruise control, radio/cassette player, full service-history and a current MOT valid to January 28.
The forerunner of the Golf R, the R32 was launched in time for the 2003 model year. it was powered by a transverse-mounted 3,189cc DOHC V6 engine producing 238bhp which, coupled with a Haldex fourwheel drive system made for a very rapid, surefooted car that was capable of powering to 60mph in around 6.4 seconds. Standard equipment included sports suspension, large disc brakes operated by blue painted calipers, R32-specific bumpers, side skirts, roof spoiler, 18-inch OZ Aristo alloy wheels, Konig sports seats, sunroof and Xenon headlamps. Of the 10,062 MK4 R32s made, only 2,391 are thought to have been registered in the UK.
