A highly sought-after ‘modern classic’, this example of Volkswagen’s Corrado is the VR6 flagship, presented in subtle but stunning metallic pearl green. Featuring a 2.9-litre V6 ‘ L752 AJT’ is the high-performance version of VW’s 2+2 coupe from the period, driving the front wheels through a five-speed manual transmission for a sub-seven second 0-60mph time when new. Fitted with Speedline five-spoke alloy wheels, the Corrado VR6 features a number of factory-fitted items such as rear-spoiler, front fog-lights, sunroof, electric windows, and electric wing-mirrors.. The interior is trimmed in grey/black, with blue tinted stripes on the grey cloth upholstery front sports seats and “+2” bucket seats in the rear.
Offered with a large file of paperwork, ‘L752 AJT’ comes with original handbooks, full history from new, receipts for work carried out, and every MOT - making up a folder almost two inches thick. Described by the vendor as a ‘totally stock and original spec car’, the mechanical components have received no modifications. In fact, the only element that is mentioned as being modified is the fitment of a new Blaupunkt radio system with Bluetooth and phone connectivity, yet even this design is in keeping with the rest of the interior. Presented with two keys, remote central locking, and an alarm/immobiliser, this Corrado VR6 has covered an indicated 142,000 miles, and retains its full toolkit, with spare wheel and jack. The alloy wheels have recently been refurbished, new brake discs added all-round, and the suspension components repainted. In 2021, around £4,000 was spent on the engine, including new timing chains and head work, while ‘L752 AJT’ has also recently been serviced. As such, it’s little surprise that the vendor describes the Corrado as in superb overall condition, with the bodywork and paint rated as ‘good’, and the engine, transmission, electrics, and interior as ‘excellent’.
· Performance version of Volkswagen’s Corrado coupe
· Flagship VR6 comes with high levels of equipment

Volkswagen’s Corrado was launched in 1988, effectively replacing the Scirocco MkII, (although Scirocco production didn’t end until 1992) and offering a coupe model based on the same A2 platform as the Golf from the time. Other than the Karmann built body, many of the components under the skin were shared with the Golf and Jetta, other than the VR6 models which required a wider track, with new front wings, wider wheel arches, and a new front bumper and raised bonnet to fit the larger engine. Offered with a choice of straight-four engines -including a supercharged version – or V6 units, the Corrado came with either five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission, but a single body style. It lasted until 1995, though wasn’t directly replaced until the third-generation Scirocco arrived in 2008.
