Developed in collaboration with Tom Walkinshaw Racing, the Jaguar XJR 3.6-A TWR marked the beginning of Jaguar’s return to high-performance saloon cars in the modern era. Based on the XJ40 platform, this limited-production model featured bespoke body styling, upgraded suspension, and enhanced driving dynamics. Just 252 examples were produced, and it is believed that fewer than 40 remain in existence today. As one of the earliest vehicles built by TWR, this example represents a rare and significant piece of Jaguar’s performance heritage. This vehicle is number 21 of 252 made.
The vendor informs us that this XJR 3.6-A is fitted with factory electric and heated seats as well as an electric sunroof. It has benefitted from substantial recent mechanical work carried out to a high standard, including new brakes front and rear, suspension arms and ball joints replaced with polybush components, and new front shocks. The car also features an uprated H-frame fitted to the front suspension and now rides on rare 18-inch SK8 alloy wheels with fresh tyres.
Further enhancements include a handmade stainless steel exhaust system by Silver Systems of Leek, said to deliver a superb soundtrack from the 3.6-litre engine. A recent full service included new fluids and filters, while the windscreen and rubbers were replaced in June 2025. Supplied with its original Jaguar bookpack and service booklet showing a mix of main dealer and independent specialist stamps, the car has had just two owners from new — the first registering it to his company before transferring it into his personal name.
