This ultra-desirable Toyota Celica GT4 ST205, a turbocharged four-wheel drive version of the famed coupe that produces almost 240bhp, is a real star car of the 1990s. An iconic choice in racing video games, this particular example is notable for being a genuine non-import car, featuring a factory leather interior that the vendor describes as being in excellent condition. It has the original lightweight Enkei alloy wheels too, and a factory-option electric sunroof. The vendor is a real Celica enthusiast, with this car being their second GT4. It was maintained regardless of cost until, sadly, their health took a turn for the worst during Covid, where it was parked up. This saw the odometer reading of 130,000 miles remain static for a few years.

‘P447PWT’ has been recommissioned since then, with renowned Celica specialist JPF carrying out the necessary work to make it roadworthy again – invoices totalling £4,500 detail exactly what was carried out. This forms part of a very comprehensive history, which also includes the original manuals, history books and old MOTs over the past decade. The engine is correspondingly described as being in ‘excellent’ condition, although the vendor adds that once it had a good run following recommissioning, it became clear the turbo seals had gone. “It smokes on idle but otherwise drives fine, and a new turbo will cost around £500-£600”. The vendor adds that the paintwork is not in great condition, but the bodywork is otherwise very good, as is the interior.

The Toyota Celica is an iconic model from the Japanese firm. The first version was produced back in 1970, passing through several quirky generations before the desirable fourth-generation car was introduced in 1985. The fifth generation took on a curvy new look, which this car, a sixth-generation model, further evolved. It ran for six years before being replaced by a wedge-shaped seventh-generation. The Celica name was then parked in 2006, with enthusiasts remaining hopeful that it will follow the Toyota Supra and one day be reborn.

  • Non-import car with desirable leather interior and electric sunroof
  • Owned by a Celica enthusiast
  • Recently recommissioned at a cost of £4,500
