The Gold Cup Classic & Performance Car Auction

Lot 75

1991 Ferrari Testarossa
A genuine RHD car, recently treated to a full service, including replacement belts and complete brake overhaul.

Registration - H219 DKH

Chassis No. - ZFFAA17C000089284

M.O.T. - December 2024

Odometer - 62,652

This marvellous Ferrari Testarossa is a genuine right-hand drive car that benefits from recent work meaning the new owner can enjoy it to the fullest. The vendor reports the work includes an engine-out cambelt service, which saw all fluids and filters being changed, along with the spark plugs. It has also had a complete brake overhaul, with new pads, cables and flexihoses. They say the bodywork is in 'excellent' condition, as are the engine and transmission. Paintwork, interior and electrics are all said to be in 'good' condition too, with the vendor reporting just a couple of stone chips around the bonnet, and a little wearing in the carpet heel area.

Interestingly, detailed records supplied with the car show it was originally chosen to be delivered in white, with a blue interior. The first owner then decided, in early 1991, to change the order to the Rosso Corsa red car with crema leather interior you see here. Many will agree this was a very wise decision, and such documentation helps provide a fascinating record of the car’s history. It was delivered on 17 May 1991 and the vendor has owned ‘H219 DKH’ for nearly 10 years. The Veglia Borletti odometer today reads just 62,652 miles.

The Ferrari Testarossa was a bona fide poster car of the 1980s, celebrating the excesses of the decade in iconic style. Launched in 1984 to replace the Berlinetta Boxer, the ultra-wide Testarossa, with its unmistakable side strakes and jaw-dropping stance, became an instant Ferrari icon. It soon found fame on TV in Miami Vice, and also became the star of Sega’s arcade video game, Out Run. This helped it be a supercar sales success too, with nearly 10,000 made over a 12-year lifecycle. With a giant 4.9-litre V12 providing the towering performance to match its standout style, the Ferrari Testarossa was an instant classic that remains a cultural icon even today.

In summary:

  • Iconic Ferrari Testarossa in classic Rosso Corsa red
  • Recent engine-out cambelt change
  • Odometer reads just 62,652 miles
