This 1997 Alpina B3 Touring is a car for real enthusiasts – this one particularly so, as it reputedly one of just five right-hand drive cars remaining. Resplendent in Alpina Blue, with the famous Alpina multi-spoke alloy wheels, it is a rare Touring model that the vendor has owned since May 2018; it has four former keepers. It really has had no expense spared since they purchased it, with expenditure of more than £7,000 in parts and £9,500 in garage bills. Work includes full brakes, suspension and steering renewal, a repair of any corrosion, and an interior refurbishment “to a high standard”. The interior is described as now being in “excellent” condition, to complement “good” bodywork and paintwork. The car also has refurbished alloys and two new rear tyres. The odometer reads 104,000 miles.
‘P719JCH’ has a full BMW service history up to 2018, and has been serviced since then according to the dashboard service lights. The vendor describes the 3,152cc straight-six engine, and automatic transmission, as being in “good” condition. The history includes “virtually all the receipts of work ever done over the past 20 years” plus a full list of all the parts that have been renewed. It also comes with all the original owner’s manuals and other related books – and a full spec sheet of when the car was new. Adding further reassurance, there are two ignition keys and a collection of lock and wheel nut keys – along with the jack, toolkit, spare wheel and tyre. It has an MOT valid until May 2025.
The iconic Alpina B3 are high-performance cars produced by German specialist manufacturer Alpine, based on the BMW 3 Series. The series was first introduced with the E30 BMW 3 Series in 1987, with the Alpina B3 2.7. In 1993, the E36-derived B3 3.0 arrived, with the E46 B3 3.3 arriving in 1999, and the E90 B3 Biturbo in 2007. The B3 Biturbo has continued through F30 fifth-generation and G20 sixth-generation models, giving it a rich lineage and lots of desirability within Alpina circles.
