Registration - V327 UFC
Chassis No. - 1J4FJN8P1YL150788
M.O.T. - June 2025
Odometer - 33,000
This late example of Jeep’s XJ Cherokee is increasingly sought after, quickly making its way to desirable classic status. Under the rugged, squared-off front end sits Jeep’s 2.5-litre petrol engine, with a five-speed manual gearbox driving all four wheels. ‘V327 UFC’ is presented in silver, with five-spoke alloys wheels and part-body coloured bumpers. The interior is upholstered in grey cloth with a diamond motif, and grey plastic dash and doors.
Described by the vendor - just the fourth owner in more than 20 years - as a ‘classic gem’ and a ‘rare find’, it’s clear from the images that ‘V327 UFC’ is in remarkably good condition for its age. This Cherokee 2.5L has been regularly serviced and maintained thoroughly, having recently had £1,000 spent on it. It comes with a well-documented history, including service book and wealth of invoices for past work. Offered with an MOT until summer next year, ‘V327 UFC’ is rated as being in ‘good’ condition in terms of the engine, bodywork, and paint, while the transmission, electrics, and interior are considered ‘excellent’. With only 33,000 indicated miles on the clock, this is a rare low mileage example.
· Desirable XJ-series Jeep Cherokee
· Low mileage model
· Well maintained and in superb condition inside and out
The Cherokee was introduced by Jeep in 1975, pitched as a sportier, two-door model in its range. A four-door model was later added to the line-up, positioning the Cherokee below the Wagoneer as a model in its own right. Production lasted until 1983, when Jeep launched the XJ-series model. With boxy styling, it was a big departure from the out-going model, but it’s a design that looked good and has aged very well. Available in two-, four-, or five-door configurations, it was also offered in rear- or all-wheel drive. It has proven to be a key model in the development of 4x4s from utilitarian, agricultural or military focused vehicles, into the SUVs that are so popular with buyers today. Power came from a range of petrol and diesel engines, and a choice of manual or automatic gearboxes. Production lasted until 2001, when Jeep kept the Cherokee name, but on a smaller model, and moved the spiritual successor to the Grand Cherokee badge.
