‘ML54BZM’ represents a cherished example of the well respected Mondeo ST220. The ST220 arrived in 2002 as the most powerful model of the MKIII Mondeo. ‘ML54BZM’ has been relished by just five keepers to date with the vendor having proudly owned it for over 5 ½ years. ‘ML54BZM’ has been fastidiously maintained by the current keeper with much valuable and futureproofing work recently undertaken. As such ‘ML54BZM’ comes with an advisory free MOT until April 2026 and a partly documented service history. ‘ML54BZM’ is an increasingly rarely seen example of this high performance Ford saloon and is offered here with NO RESERVE.
It is no coincidence that the vendor describes ‘ML54BZM’ as running really well and a great drive. Firstly, of course, there is that 3-litre, V6 Duratec engine originally rated at a healthy 226 bhp. In the post ’03 cars like this one, this is mated to the six speed Getrag MMT gearbox from the MKIII Focus ST/RS. This set up originally endowed the ST220 with a 150mph top speed and a 0-60mph time in the early sevens. What’s more, however, ‘ML54BZM’ has enjoyed plenty in the way of care and attention with its current keeper. This includes a new clutch and dual mass flywheel, and new discs and pads all round. Despite them not being required a new subframe, suspension arms and bushes have also been fitted. The engine, transmission and electrics are all rated as “good.”
‘ML54BZM’ presents in popular and stealthy looking black livery complete with its original 16 spoke, 18-inch ST alloy wheels. The cabin features the supremely comfortable Recaro front seats with all upholstery being courtesy of black leather. Despite the ST’s impressive performance credentials it, of course, boasts all the practicality and usability of any Mondeo saloon.
