‘Stunning’ is the only word to describe this remarkable 1993 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo. The A80 Toyota Supra was one of the holy grail Japanese sports cars of the 1990s, and this 3.0-litre twin-turbo ‘2JZ-GTE’ model is the most desirable of all. It is currently owned by a collector and has shared a stable with Aston Martins, Bentleys and Porsches. They only reason they are auctioning it is because they are downsizing – otherwise, ‘L994SJN’ would remain part of their collection, not least because of its near-showroom condition inside and out. Its fabulous appearance has been enhanced by a professional clean, which also saw the application of a Gtechniq ceramic coating and interior finishing by professionals. Applied in 2022, the ceramic coating still has a valid five-year guarantee. The underside was cleaned, primed and undersealed in November 2021 by Armour Rustproofing of Sheffield, with photographic evidence.
This special Supra Twin Turbo is a UK main dealer import, brought into the UK by Toyota main dealer RRG Bolton after its first Japanese owner kept it from new for four years. It arrived and was registered in the UK in July 1997, and has had just two former keepers here. The original UK owner kept it for more than 19 years, and the vendor acquired it from the original owner’s daughter in November 2017. When they acquired it, the odometer read 32,100 miles and it now reads just 34,200 miles. Humbly, they say it is “not concourse… but is in extremely good time-warp condition”, as the images reveal in all its glory.
‘L994SJN’ has new Toyota Proxes Sport tyres, while the spare is unused. All the original tools are present. The floor mats, CD stereo and cassette player are authentic, too. Originally, it was fitted with an HKS Super Drager exhaust, but this was replaced by a full new HKS Drager system in June 2021. The vendor has gathered a collection of MOTs during their ownership (the current MOT is valid until April 2026), along with a wonderfully detailed history of work carried out. This includes expert workmanship by Toyota main dealer RRG Bolton and Stockport, while in 2018, the automatic gearbox was refurbished, and the ECU was repaired and recommissioned in 2020. A genuinely jaw-dropping 1993 Toyota Supra, ‘L994SJN’ is a bona fide collectable just waiting for its next enthusiast owner to continue cherishing this outstanding car.
