Having never officially been imported in this guise to the UK, ‘Y883 DHN’ represents a rare sight here today. In S/tb – Sports Turbo – specification ‘Y883 DHN’ was imported from Japan in July 2022. Graded as a 3.5 at import ‘Y883 DHN’ presents in a clean and corrosion free condition. In the ownership of the first UK keeper ‘Y883 DHN’ is offered here with NO RESERVE. Powered by the revered, turbocharged EJ205 2 litre turbo boxer engine and mated to a four speed automatic transmission, ‘Y883 DHN’ offers the ultimate mechanical specification for the rugged and highly practical SF, first generation Forester. Some well-chosen modifications have been made by the owner to further enhance the Forester’s dynamics. These include upgraded brake disks and pads from DBA, a stainless steel cat back exhaust system from Longlife with a lifetime guarantee as well as a stainless steel down pipe with a sport cat from Cobra. A mild ECU remap has also been undertaken. With an MOT valid until June 2025 this rare Subaru is ready to fulfil its unique role as part load lugging SUV, part rally-bred road rocket.
‘Y883 DHN’ has recently benefitted from a £1,400 spend on some professional remedial work to a minor dent and some peeling paint around the rear hatch. Following this ‘Y883 DHN’ presents very nicely in its crisp white livery with the owner rating both paint and bodywork as “good.” Exterior highlights include the STi emblazoned aperture covers up front, chunky body kit and original, OEM 17-inch BBS alloy wheels. The Forester’s cabin is tastefully plush in a charming JDM way. The black Alcantara and fabric upholstery is replete with repeating STi motifs and bright red stitching. Other attributes include four spoke Momo steering wheel, JVC double DIN head unit and typically jazzy original Japanese Forester mats…..bordering on rugs.
The EJ205 turbocharged boxer, 2-litre engine fitted to ‘Y883 DHN’ is essentially the same unit fitted to the Impreza WRX of the period. Originally, and conservatively, rated at 227 bhp and 217 Ib-ft of torque this is sufficient to endow the Forester with an enjoyable and useable turn of speed. ‘Y883 DHN’ is complete with some supporting paperwork and the original, OEM exhaust system.

BIDDING

PAYMENTS

COLLECTION
Removal of lots can take place once the auction has finished and up until 1pm on the following day. If you are unable to collect yourself, please speak with one of our team should you wish put in contact with our transport / storage partners site at the auction.
