Introduced to celebrate four decades of one of Britain’s most recognisable motor cars, the Rover Mini 40th Anniversary combined the timeless shape of the original Mini with a particularly attractive level of equipment and special-edition detailing.
This 1999 example, registration ‘T230 WWC’, is finished in an attractive light colour complemented by the distinctive gold coachlines and ‘Mini 40’ crests to the rear quarters. The exterior specification is completed by alloy wheels, chrome brightwork and a pair of auxiliary driving lamps, giving the car the quintessential sporting Mini appearance.
The special-edition theme continues inside, where the cabin features dark leather upholstery with contrasting piping and the distinctive Mini 40 instrumentation. The photographs show a wonderfully period interior which has clearly been enjoyed, with the leather displaying some age-related patination consistent with the car’s mileage.
Under the bonnet sits the later fuel-injected A-Series engine, while the photographs show a clean and neatly presented engine bay. The boot area is similarly tidy and provides a useful opportunity to inspect the condition of the surrounding painted metalwork.
The odometer currently displays 88,387 miles, while an M.O.T. is in place until August 2027.
Late-production classic Minis have developed a particularly enthusiastic following, combining the unmistakable driving experience and compact dimensions of the original design with greater refinement and equipment than their earlier counterparts. Anniversary models add another layer of collectability, and the Mini 40 is immediately distinguished by its bespoke badging, trim and interior details.
‘T230 WWC’ presents as an appealing and highly usable example of this increasingly sought-after special edition. With its attractive colour combination, leather cabin, period alloy wheels and unmistakable Mini character, it would make an enjoyable addition to a collection while remaining a classic that can readily be used and enjoyed.
