1931 Rudge 500 Special
Equipped with a new stainless steel exhaust system

Registration - PL8 219

Chassis No. - 44683

This splendidly–presented Rudge has been maintained by a well-known enthusiast of the marque and has benefited from the recent restoration of both its 500cc single cylinder engine and four-speed hand-change gearbox. It has also been equipped with a new stainless steel exhaust system and a pair of tyres. The all black paintwork is complemented by gold coachlines and a tan-coloured saddle. The vendor currently considers the engine, transmission, frame, suspension, paintwork and cycle parts to all be in ‘excellent’ condition, and the brightwork as ‘good’. He is now offering this evocative machine complete with its original buff logbook and a sizeable selection of invoices.

Rudge-Whitworth was created by the merger of two bicycle companies and not only progressed to the world of motorcycle production, but also that of wire wheel maker, the related rights to which were ultimately acquired by Jaguar. Rudge motorcycles were manufactured from 1911 to 1946 and were notable for their racing successes.
