Registration - GRR 116V
Chassis No. - GAECWT185070
M.O.T. - Exempt
Odometer - 35,000
Immortalised by the Professionals TV series and a serial winner on the race track, Europe’s answer to the American pony car is now a well-established collectors’ car, good examples of which are increasingly keenly sought. This handsome example should therefore get the tongues wagging. Its smart gold paintwork is perfectly complemented by brown velour interior trim – a rare colour combination – and the car is so original it even retains the number plates and rear window sticker of its supplying dealer, CP Evinson Ltd of Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. Wax treated from new, the Capri retains its original 13 inch 8-spoke alloy wheels, high-back seats, tilt and slide factory-fitted sunroof, headlamp washers and a Sharp radio-cassette, which would have been a dealer upgrade.
The vendor presently considers the 2-litre Pinto engine and interior to be ‘excellent’ and the bodywork, paintwork and transmission to be ‘good’, and further volunteers that ‘the car’s dashboard is free of the cracking that tends to affect the model, while the seats, carpets and headlining are all in notably fine condition’. The only deviation from standard to be found on this apparently unmolested Ford is a K&N air filter, but that can easily be replaced by the original pancake one if required. This most pleasing example of ‘The Car You Always Promised Yourself’ has to be a serious consideration for Capri aficionados, especially considering its stunningly low indicated mileage of just 35,000 is evidently fully substantiated by the accompanying MOTs and associated paperwork.
In summary:
'A Buyer’s Premium applies to the Hammer Price of this Lot if your bid is successful, as per the following; Motor Cars 12.5% + VAT (minimum £150 + VAT), Motorcycles and Bicycles 15% + VAT (minimum £100 + VAT); Registration Numbers 15% + VAT (minimum £50 + VAT); Automobilia 15% + VAT (minimum of £5 + VAT).'
Potential buyers should satisfy themselves with the description and condition of each lot prior to sale. Each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ as per the terms and conditions for the auction, buyers are asked to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out the service. Any disputes over descriptions will not be entertained.
