This glorious 1949 Cadillac Fastback Coupe is described by the vendor as “a real head-turner” – and, looking at the images, it’s clear to see why. The fabulously exuberant two-door coupe body is finished in period black, with a black and red interior that celebrates the era. Imported into the UK in 2014, ‘YVL516’ has a part service history and comes with lots of paperwork detailing a life of more than 70 years on the road. It even has instruction manuals and warranty cards.

The vendor describes the bodywork, paintwork and interior as all being in ‘excellent’ condition. It’s been meticulously looked after and dry-stored for the past 12 months, only being taken out for summertime drives. “It’s a really nice example and runs very well.” The vendor adds the 5.7-litre Monoblock V8 engine will come with a fresh service.

The Cadillac Series 61 was the American luxury firm’s most mainstream model range between 1939-1951. By 1948, it had been moved onto GM’s C-Body platform, with unmistakable styling including rear tailfins inspired by fighter planes. Offered in four-door sedan and two-door coupe guise, the engine line-up was all-V8, either the newer 5.4-litre or the more established 5.7-litre Monoblock V8. The model was eventually replaced by the more upscale Series 62.

In summary:

  • Glorious 1949 Cadillac Fastback Coupe
  • Imported into the UK in 2014
  • Lots of paperwork including instruction manuals and warranty cards
