The Gold Cup Classic & Performance Car & Motorcycle Auction

  Lot 117

1994 Porsche Carrera 2
Desirable manual example and only 14,000 miles from new

Registration - M772 KON

Chassis No. - WP0ZZZ99ZSS310176

M.O.T. - May 2024

Odometer - 14,332

Here’s one to excite the many fans of the last air-cooled 911 model – a 993 that’s travelled just 14,332 miles to date and had just one private keeper. Finished in the ever popular Porsche colour of Guards Red and trimmed in grey leather, ‘M772 KON’ was registered new to its supplying dealer Evans Halshaw of Sutton Coldfield before being purchased just three weeks later by the vendor. There are two further entries on the V5, but they were prompted by the vendor re-registering the car in the title of his company and then later putting back in his own name. He informs us that every aspect of the car is original and that it’s always been garaged and well maintained and, while it has spent a lot of time in storage, it has been started and run on a regular basis. Apparently, the only known faults are a very minor dent in the passenger door and an intermittent problem with the radio. He therefore has no hesitation in now classing the flat-six engine, six-speed manual transmission, paintwork and upholstery as ‘excellent’, and the bodywork as ‘good’. He is now selling this lovely Porsche complete with factory-fitted sunroof, Blaupunkt sound system, Porsche alarm, handbooks, a pair of keys, and the main dealer service record containing stamps at 7,000 and 14,000 miles (there was an oil and filter change in January this year), plus a full year’s MOT.

Penned by Englishman Tony Hatter, the 993 was instantly recognisable by its heavily slanted ellipsoidal headlamps mounted low in the wings and the notably flared rear wheel arches. The long standing trailing arm rear suspension was no more, and in its place came a far more effective subframe-mounted multi-link arrangement. Braking was by servo-assisted ventilated discs on all four corners – ABS was standard. Steering was by rack and pinion. Other updates included more power for the 3.6-litre flat-six powerplant (up from 250 to 272bhp) and a brand new six-speed manual gearbox. The two-wheel drive version now needed only 5.2 seconds for the 0-60mph sprint and could top 160mph flat out.

In summary:

  • Just 14,332 miles and one private owner from new
  • Totally original throughout right down to the tools and spare wheel
  • Comes with service history and a full year’s MOT
