The Gold Cup Classic Car Auction

  Lot 119

2004 BMW M3 Convertible

Registration - FL04 VNN

Chassis No. - WBSBR92080PM956662

M.O.T. - February 2022

Odometer - 136,464

Of all the great BMW M cars, the E46 M3 has remained among the most admired, and good examples of both the coupe and convertible are keenly sought by enthusiasts of the marque. This well-presented manual transmission drop-top is finished in silver-grey metallic, trimmed in black hide and rides on period-correct 10-spoke alloy wheels. It has had four keepers to date, who between them have amassed a total of 136,464 miles. Clearly cherished, ‘FL04 VNN’, is regarded by the vendor as having ‘excellent’ bodywork, paintwork, engine and Getrag six-speed transmission, and ‘good’ upholstery. Furthermore, he informs us that the Beemer drives without fault and that the electric-folding roof also works perfectly and free of problems. He is now offering the car for sale complete with full service history, selection of invoices and a current MOT valid until February 8 next year.

Now in its sixth generation, BMW’s 3 series range is an automotive phenomenon and unique among the world’s executive expresses. Since succeeding the company’s 2002 model in 1975, it has generally accounted for 30 per cent of BMW’s annual car sales, is the bestselling car in its class, almost as well known in America, Asia and Australia as it is in Europe, and has frequently outsold much cheaper rivals. There has been an M3 version of every generation, the E46 version of which was produced from 2000 to 2006. Its silky smooth naturally-aspirated 3.2-litre straight-six engine delivered a healthy 338bhp at 7,900 rpm – sufficient to whisk the four-seater to 60mph in around 5 seconds and on to an electronically-limited top speed 155mph.

In summary:

  • Nicely presented in the ever-popular M3 colour of silver-grey
  • Just three former keepers
  • Comes with full service history
