  Lot 12

1996 Porsche 911 Carrera 4
Two-owner, 64k mile example with full service history. Rides on upgraded GT3 specification alloy wheels

Registration - N723 NCK

Chassis No - WP022299ZTS310599

M.O.T. - October 2024

Odometer - 64,885

Here’s one to excite the many fans of the last air-cooled 911 model – a lovely 993 that’s had just two keepers from new and amassed a modest total mileage of 64,688. ‘N723 NCK’ was delivered new to Porsche dealer Corkills on the Isle of Man in 1996 and first registered on the mainland in June 2000. It is finished in the very pleasing combination of Arena Red paintwork (metallic burgundy) and grey leather interior trim, and currently rides on a set of sparkling 18” GT3 alloy wheels shod with good quality Continental tyres. The Carrera’s comprehensive specification includes climate and cruise control, tinted windscreen and windows and an electric sunroof. Being a late enough version of the model to be equipped with the Varioram air intake system, its flat-six engine produces a very healthy 285bhp as opposed to the 272bhp of the earlier examples. The vendor considers the Porsche’s powerplant, six-speed manual transmission, bodywork, paintwork and upholstery to all be in ‘excellent’ condition. The most recent keeper has sadly now passed away, and this clearly much-loved Porsche is now being offered by his wife complete with: Pioneer bluetooth audio unit, spacesaver wheel/tyre, the original tools and first aid kit, service book fully-stamped up to 63,396 miles (ie just 1,292 miles ago), a selection of bills and receipts, and a current MOT certificate valid to October 14 next year.

Penned by Englishman Tony Hatter, the 993 was instantly recognisable by its heavily slanted ellipsoidal headlamps mounted low in the wings and the notably flared rear wheel arches. The long-standing trailing arm rear suspension was no more, and in its place came a far more effective subframe-mounted multi-link arrangement. Braking was by servo-assisted ventilated discs on all four corners – ABS was standard. Steering was by rack and pinion. Other updates included more power for the 3.6-litre flat-six powerplant and a brand new six-speed manual gearbox. The four-wheel drive version now needed only c.5.2 seconds for the 0-60mph sprint and could top 160mph flat out.

In summary:

  • A decidedly handsome two-owner, 64,688 mile example
  • Comes with full service history and MOT to October 14, 2024
  • Rides on GT3 alloy wheels.
