An Auction of Classic and Performance Cars and Motorcycles

  Lot 120

2007 Bentley Continental GT Speed
Full service history, entered by a former Bentley technician

Registration - MX57 HJO

Chassis No. - SCBCF63W58C053482

M.O.T. - July 2023

Odometer - 63,928

There are few more imposing coupes than this period of Bentley’s much-acclaimed Continental, and few engine sounds that set the pulse racing quite like that of the related W12 – all of which makes for a very enticing package that’s eminently affordable in today’s market. The example on offer has been entered by a former technical employee of the company’s famed factory in Crewe, and we find it hard to disagree with his view that the car is ‘immaculate inside and out’. He therefore has no hesitation in regarding the 6-litre engine, eight-speed automatic gearbox, two-door bodywork, Granite Grey paintwork and hand-stitched black leather interior trim as all being in ‘excellent’ condition. ‘MX57 HJO’ is now being offered for sale with all the creature comforts you might expect, not to mention ceramic brakes (a £20,000 upgrade), television and a reversing camera, plus a full service history courtesy of Bentley specialists and a current MOT valid to July 5. This truly splendid motorcar has had a total of nine keepers to date, who between them have amassed a total mileage of 63,928.

Launched at the 2003 Geneva Salon, the Continental GT differed from the previous Continental R and T models in being mass produced rather coach-built, which allowed far greater numbers to be manufactured at a more attractive price – the cost at launch was literally less than half that of Continental R, thereby dramatically widening the potential customer base. The four-wheel drive coupe in optimal Speed form was powered by a twin-turbocharged W12 engine of 6.0-litres, the output of which was a mighty 600bhp – sufficient for a 0-60mph acceleration time of some 4.3 seconds and top speed in excess of 200mph! Other elements that differentiated the Speed model from its standard siblings included lower suspension and wider-rimmed alloy wheels shod with Pirelli P Zero tyres.

In summary:

  • A stunning example entered by a former Bentley technician
  • Features ceramic brakes, TV, reversing camera
  • Comes complete with full service history and current MOT
