The Gold Cup Classic & Performance Car & Motorcycle Auction

  Lot 15

1956 Royal Enfield Bullet 350

Registration - WNG 460

Chassis No. - G2 38385

M.O.T. - Exempt

Odometer - 39,238

‘WNG 460’ was apparently one of a short run of hand-built Bullets constructed with a lightweight frame in 1956/early 1957. This matching numbers 1956 example was delivered new to Clarks of Norwich, but was not registered until May 1 the following year. The vendor informs us that it was rebuilt a few years ago, during which the engine barrel was rebored and new bearings, magneto, coil, and battery installed. He now considers the single-cylinder powerplant, four-speed gearbox and frame to be in ‘excellent’ order, and grades the suspension, red and black paintwork, brightwork and cycle parts as ‘good’. He’s now offering the machine for sale complete with its original instruction book and 1956 factory spares list (that includes a diagram of the rare lightweight frame). The odometer currently registers a total of 39,238 miles. The Bullet has the distinction of boasting the longest unchanged production run of any motorcycle, having been in continuous manufacture from 1948, initially in Redditch, UK and nowadays in Chennai, India.

'A Buyer’s Premium applies to the Hammer Price of this Lot if your bid is successful, as per the following;  Motor Cars 12.5% + VAT (minimum £150 + VAT), Motorcycles and Bicycles 15% + VAT (minimum £100 + VAT); Registration Numbers 15% + VAT (minimum £50 + VAT); Automobilia 15% + VAT (minimum of £5 + VAT).'

Potential buyers should satisfy themselves with the description and condition of each lot prior to sale. Each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ as per the terms and conditions for the auction, buyers are asked to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out the service. Any disputes over descriptions will not be entertained.

Estimated at £2,000 - £4,000
