The Gold Cup Classic & Performance Car & Motorcycle Auction

  Lot 16

1959 Royal Enfield Meteor Minor

Registration - YOV471

Chassis No. - 6196

M.O.T. - Exempt

Odometer - 02041

‘YOV 471’ features black paintwork throughout matched to a white-piped black seat. It is a rare 496cc twin-cylinder Royal Enfield that the vendor informs us has been upgraded for modern touring, and so now features 12 volt electrics with fresh wiring and an alternator, flashing indicators, and contemporary handlebar-mounted switchgear. He now views the electrical system as ‘excellent’, and all other major aspects of the machine, including the tyres, as being in ‘good’ order. It is now being sold complete with a large history file containing a selection of invoices etc, plus the bike’s original logbook. The odometer currently registers a total of 2,041 miles. Only produced from 1958 to 1963, the Meteor Minor was the last of the classic Redditch-built vertical twins. It drove through an Albion four-speed gearbox and, thanks to a relatively lightweight construction, had a top speed just shy of 100mph.

'A Buyer’s Premium applies to the Hammer Price of this Lot if your bid is successful, as per the following;  Motor Cars 12.5% + VAT (minimum £150 + VAT), Motorcycles and Bicycles 15% + VAT (minimum £100 + VAT); Registration Numbers 15% + VAT (minimum £50 + VAT); Automobilia 15% + VAT (minimum of £5 + VAT).'

Potential buyers should satisfy themselves with the description and condition of each lot prior to sale. Each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ as per the terms and conditions for the auction, buyers are asked to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out the service. Any disputes over descriptions will not be entertained.
