An Auction of Classic and Performance Cars and Motorcycles

  Lot 19

1966 BSA A65S Spitfire MKII

Registration - KKH 511D

Chassis No. - A65S8193

M.O.T. Exempt

Odometer - 300 since restoration

This truly immaculate matching numbers BSA has been the subject of a no-expense spared restoration. It is one of only 530 such models made and one of just 30 sold new in the UK – ‘KKH 511D’ was purchased from Rex Judd of Edgware, London on March 1, 1966. The machine has been rebuilt to the original specification but with a number of upgrades to allow its use as a daily rider – eg it still sports its 190 front brake, but now benefits from an Eddie Dow twin leading shoe conversion. It also features SRM Engineering’s roller bearing crank conversion (a £1,500 modification) along with a number of the other contemporary improvements sold by this renowned Aberystwyth-based classic bike specialist. The as-new motorcycle is now available for some other lucky person to enjoy, and is being sold complete with rear carrier, tool roll, 1966 tax disc, BSA rider’s manual, plus a large collection of receipts and other history. Also available by separate negotiation is an original set of brand new Amal carburettors, plus remote float and BSA tuning guide. A surely unrepeatable opportunity.

'A Buyer’s Premium applies to the Hammer Price of this Lot if your bid is successful, as per the following;  Motor Cars 12.5% + VAT (minimum £150 + VAT), Motorcycles and Bicycles 15% + VAT (minimum £100 + VAT); Registration Numbers 15% + VAT (minimum £50 + VAT); Automobilia 15% + VAT (minimum of £5 + VAT).'

Potential buyers should satisfy themselves with the description and condition of each lot prior to sale. Each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ as per the terms and conditions for the auction, buyers are asked to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out the service. Any disputes over descriptions will not be entertained.

Sold for £5,400
