As the images make clear, this remarkable 1990 Jaguar XJ-S 5.3 HE is described as a “brilliant” example. It is a car said to be in ‘excellent’ condition throughout – that’s outside, inside and mechanically. The current owner has had the car for two years, but the previous owner kept it for almost three decades. They looked after it meticulously, with the car boasting a full service history, “all dealer”. Original literature includes the green Jaguar owner’s wallet with the handbook carrying branding from the highly regarded Clive Sutton Jaguar Centre of London. The odometer reads just 53,000 miles.
‘G29SCG’ has metallic blue paintwork and a striking brand new interior in fabulous red leather. It looks fantastic, and is set off by rich wood veneer. Noteworthy original features include the Jaguar-branded radio cassette player, push-button fuel computer, “Speed Control’ cruise control system, electric seats and a T-bar shifter for the automatic gearbox. It’s fabulously period and, understandably, the vendor describes ’G29SCG’ as “one of the best examples you will see”. This is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the finest Jaguar XJ-S 5.3 HE on the market.
The Jaguar XJ-S was introduced in 1975 as a modern, avant-garde replacement for the iconic Jaguar E-type. It was based on the able Jaguar XJ saloon, and offered in coupe, targa and convertible bodystyles. There were three iterations, and this car is the second in the series, known as the XJ-S HE. The ‘HE’ lettering stood for ‘High Efficiency’, with the 5.3-litre V12 engine boasting much better fuel economy as well as a power boost to nearly 300bhp. Welcome updates to the exterior and interior also brought the model up to spec for the 1980s, with sales responding accordingly.
In summary:
· 1990 Jaguar XJ-S 5.3 HE in ‘excellent’ condition throughout
· Full service history
· Brand new interior
