Launched to celebrate Porsche’s 1960 Sebring 12-Hour victory with the 718 RS 60, the Boxster RS 60 Spyder is a numbered limited edition of just 1,960 cars worldwide. Finished in classic GT Silver with a vivid Carrera Red leather interior, this UK-supplied example (delivered by Porsche Centre Silverstone on 11th July 2008) is plaque-numbered 1596/1960 and presents as a particularly striking and collectable modern Porsche.
Based on the Boxster S, the RS 60 Spyder benefits from a power increase to around 303bhp from its 3.4-litre flat-six, sports exhaust, unique 19-inch alloys, aluminium-look interior trim and model-specific detailing. This car features the desirable 6-speed manual gearbox, allowing the driver to make the very most of the wonderfully free-revving engine and finely balanced mid-engined chassis.
The accompanying service book and invoices show a strong maintenance record, initially with Porsche Centre Silverstone and more recently with respected Porsche specialists and marque-aware garages, with the most recent stamped service carried out in 2025 at approximately 59,972 miles. The odometer now reads 60,416 miles. The car is offered with its Porsche book-pack, RS 60 Spyder literature, assorted invoices and previous MOT certificates as photographed.
Showing four previous keepers and with MOT to May 2026, this numbered RS 60 Spyder combines rarity, provenance and everyday usability – an appealing proposition for both collectors and enthusiastic drivers alike.
