An Auction of Classic and Performance Cars and Motorcycles

  Lot 20

1966 BSA Spitfire A65S

Registration - HDV 663D

Chassis No. - A65S8219

M.O.T. - Exempt

Odometer - Odometer reads193 miles, actual mileage believed to be 6,949

This very original red and cream BSA is an export model with slim tank and kick start. It was sent new to Denmark in 1969 and remained there until being repatriated in 2014 and then UK registered in April the following year. It was fitted with a new old stock carburettor around two years ago, since when ‘HDV 663D’ has seen very little use, but will be checked over by a mechanic before the sale. The vendor currently rates the 650cc engine, four-speed gearbox, brightwork and cycle parts as ‘good’, and the frame, suspension and paintwork as ‘average’. He is selling the machine complete with a history file containing the import paperwork and other documents. The odometer reading of just 193 miles suggests the recent replacement of the speedometer.

'A Buyer’s Premium applies to the Hammer Price of this Lot if your bid is successful, as per the following;  Motor Cars 12.5% + VAT (minimum £150 + VAT), Motorcycles and Bicycles 15% + VAT (minimum £100 + VAT); Registration Numbers 15% + VAT (minimum £50 + VAT); Automobilia 15% + VAT (minimum of £5 + VAT).'

Potential buyers should satisfy themselves with the description and condition of each lot prior to sale. Each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ as per the terms and conditions for the auction, buyers are asked to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out the service. Any disputes over descriptions will not be entertained.

Sold for £4,500
