This 2012 Morgan Plus 8, which is being sold with NReserve, combines eye-catching bright white paintwork with a characterful set of contrast alloy wheels. It has a very distinctive Mulberry red leather interior too. The vendor says it is believed to be a very rare example, “being one of 60 in the UK fitted with a BMW 4.8-litre V8 engine”.
'AA08 MOG' - an entiely appropriate registration - has only had three owners, two of which were in the same family. It was purchased by the current owner as a Category D car; they say it was “mainly panel damage" and that the car was subsequently professionally repaired by Morgan specialist VSM, run by and an ex-Morgan employee”. They add there are “no issues on the V5”. The car has been fitted with a sump guard and an upgraded radio, and comes with MOT certificates, the original sales brochure and logbooks. Condition is described as ‘excellent’ throughout, and the odometer reads just 13,000 miles. MOT records appear to support this mileage.
The Morgan Plus 8 is a famous car in the Malvern firm’s line-up. It was developed from a Plus 4 chassis that was modified to take the classic Rover V8 engine. It was introduced in 1968, making Morgan one of the first British specialists to use the famous engine. It was developed carefully over the years and remained in production until 2004. The Morgan Plus 8 was later revived in 2012, using a BMW V8 engine.
