The Gold Cup Classic Car Auction

  Lot 27

1980 BMW 635 CSi
Only 23,000 miles from new

Registration - NPV 110W

Chassis No. - WBA53420005585371

M.O.T. - July 2023

Odometer - 23,108

Here’s one for the serious collectors among you – a pristine, BMW 635 CSi that has covered just 23,108 warranted miles from new in the hands of just four keepers. Its Graphite metallic grey bodywork is understood to be virtually unmarked save for ‘some light frontal stone chips’ and a ‘miniscule ding on the nearside front wing’, while the brightwork is said to have ‘a glorious mirror finish’. The parchment-coloured hide interior is similarly well presented and the matching carpets have been suitably well protected by fitted velour mats. These luxurious GT cars were well equipped as standard, but the first keeper of ‘NPV 110W’ nevertheless ordered many of the not inexpensive factory options, including: automatic transmission, metallic paint, sliding sunroof, extra low-profile Michelin TRX 220/55 VR390 tyres, headlamp wash/wipe, and heated front seats. The car was first registered on August 15, 1980 by BMW main dealer Minden Motor Company of Bury St Edmunds, who supplied it new to the managing director of Orlan Tankers Ltd. At a later date it formed part of the much-vaunted car collection of multi-millionaire philanthropist Graham Dacre CBE. The most recent service took place in January last year at Sytner BMW, Swansea. This time warp E24 BMW is now being offered complete with: fully working Blaupunkt Paris stereo system, tool kit, unused first aid kit, comprehensive history file of main dealer invoices, MOT certificates dating back to 1985, the original book pack, sales brochure, torch keys and tax disc holder, and even the original array of underbonnet factory plates and stickers.

The sleek Paul Bracq-penned, four-seat 6 Series Coupe was introduced in 1976. Production ceased in 1989 after some 86,216 examples had been produced.

In summary:

  • An exceptional example of one of BMW’s most admired models
  • Just 23,108 warranted miles from new
  • MOT’d to October 7 next year
