September 2022 Classics Auction

  Lot 3

2002 Mercedes-Benz SLK 200 Kompressor
Only 29,000 Miles *** NO RESERVE ***

Registration - KN52 PVF

Chassis No. - WDB1704442F282432

M.O.T. - July 2023

Odometer - 29,234

This very pretty SLK is a genuine three-owner vehicle that was first registered in October 2002. Finished in red and trimmed in black leather, it comes with a full service record, the most recent bout of maintenance having occurred earlier this month, when the odometer stood at an exceedingly modest 29,230 miles. The vendor perhaps unsurprisingly considers the supercharged engine, six-speed manual transmission and upholstery of this lovely example to all be in ‘excellent’ condition, and the bodywork and paintwork to also be in ‘good’ order. He is now offering the Benz complete with full factory book pack, all other relevant literature, pair of keys and a current MOT valid to July 25 next year.

Mercedes-Benz’s SLK was introduced in 1996 as a competitor to the Porsche Boxster and BMW Z3 and was among the first models to feature an electro-hydraulic retractable hardtop. The first generation examples (codename R170) were manufactured until 2004, when they were superseded by the substantially revised R171 Series. The choice of engines for the R170 ranged from 2.0-litre normally aspirated to 3.2-litre supercharged. The sale car is equipped with the 2.0-litre supercharged (kompressor) offering that developed 161bhp – sufficient to accelerate the manual gearbox version to 60mph in around 8.0 seconds.

'A Buyer’s Premium applies to the Hammer Price of this Lot if your bid is successful, as per the following;  Motor Cars 12.5% + VAT (minimum £150 + VAT), Motorcycles and Bicycles 15% + VAT (minimum £100 + VAT); Registration Numbers 15% + VAT (minimum £50 + VAT); Automobilia 15% + VAT (minimum of £5 + VAT).'

Potential buyers should satisfy themselves with the description and condition of each lot prior to sale. Each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ as per the terms and conditions for the auction, buyers are asked to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out the service. Any disputes over descriptions will not be entertained.

Sold for £3,150
