The Honda S2000 was launched in 1999 to instantly become the production car record holder for the highest specific power output per litre of any naturally aspirated car. ‘PS03PGS’ hails from the first generation, AP1 iteration of this high revving, front engine, rear wheel drive sports coupe. Furthermore, ‘PS03PGS’ is the range topping GT model which came with factory supplied hardtop and outside temperature gauge. In its current ownership since June 2023, ‘PS03PGS’ has been maintained as its owner’s pride and joy. With a sensible 65,000 miles or so covered to date, ‘PS03PGS’ comes with a detailed and full service history. In current ownership it has been treated to new brake disks and pads all round, with a full set of Michelin Pilot Sport tyres fitted in 2024. It has also benefited from a recent full Honda dealer service with all fluids (engine, transmission and differential) being replaced, and new spark plugs fitted. The current MOT is an advisory free item and is valid until August 2025. With two keys, immobiliser and a generous archive of paperwork, ‘PS03PGS’is ready to thrill its next lucky owner.

Honda worked incredibly hard to deliver a sports car for a new century that would do honour to the iconic S600, S800 and S1000 models of the 20th Century. As such the S2000’s mechanical specification was brimming with innovation. The remarkable F20C two-litre engine was a masterpiece. The double overhead camshaft VTEC unit delivered 237bhp at a screaming 8,300rpm with an 8,800rpm redline. The light engine sat back behind the front axle to deliver an optimum 50:50 weight distribution. Double wishbone suspension and electric power steering also featured. Even the dashboard got a similar digital design to late eighties, early nineties McLaren-Honda Formula-1 racing cars in tribute to Honda’s racing pedigree.

‘PS03PGS’presents in Silverstone Metallic livery and remains complete with its original factory aluminium hardtop. This detaches to reveal an electrically operated black cloth hood. The owner does report a couple of small tears in the hood. Dark finished aftermarket alloy wheels are fitted along with Maxton Design front and side splitters. The only non-standard mechanical modification is reported as a sports catalytic converter. The vendor rated condition of‘PS03PGS’ is noted as “excellent” for engine, electrics, bodywork and interior. Transmission and paintwork are rated as “good.”

In summary:

· A well presented GT version of the S2000 complete with original factory hardtop

· Compete with a full service history and other accompanying paperwork

· Enhanced with some subtle and well-chosen modifications

Estimated at £12,000 - £14,000
